If your pet could talk, what would be the first thing it says?
If my pet could talk, I suspect the first thing it would say would be:
“Finally. Took you long enough.”
Followed immediately by:
“And while I have your attention… where’s my food?”
Because let’s be honest, I’m not entirely convinced pets are secretly waiting for the ability to communicate profound thoughts about the universe.
I think most of them have a fairly straightforward agenda.
Food.
Walkies.
Attention.
More food.
And occasionally:
“Why did you close that door? I specifically wanted to go through it.”
I’d like to think my pet would eventually tell me how much they love me.
But I suspect there would be a fairly lengthy list of complaints first.
Why the vet.
Why I leave the house.
Why I don’t share my dinner.
Why I don’t understand that the ball being underneath the sofa is clearly an emergency requiring immediate human intervention.
And perhaps the biggest question of all:
“You can understand me now. So why on earth did it take you this long to figure out that I wanted to go outside?”
Honestly, I’m not sure giving pets the power of speech would improve our relationship.
It might simply give them evidence for their case. 😂
Still…
I’d love to hear it.
Even if the first words were:
“Food. Now.”
Stay Fabulous,
Luce 💋
