If you had to get a tattoo right now, what would it be and why?
If I had to get a tattoo right now?
I think I’d surprise myself.
For years, I probably would have chosen something glamorous. A quote. A flower. Something artistic that looked fabulous in a photograph.
But right now?
I think I’d get a tiny chair.
Yes. A chair.
Preferably somewhere discreet enough that people would have to ask about it.
And when they did, I’d tell them:
“Because there’s always room for one more.”
That has become rather important to me.
Over the past year, I’ve spent a lot of time wandering around this wonderful little corner of the internet. Stopping at different tables. Listening to conversations. Meeting people I would probably never have encountered otherwise.
And I’ve realised something.
Community isn’t about finding people who agree with you about everything.
Good heavens, imagine how boring that would be.
It’s about making room.
Making room for different experiences. Different opinions. Different stories. Different ways of seeing the world.
Sometimes all someone needs is an invitation to join the conversation.
A chair pulled slightly away from the table.
A little space saying:
“Come on. Sit down.”
So yes.
If I had to get a tattoo right now, I think it would be a tiny chair.
Not because I particularly enjoy furniture.
But because it would remind me of something I never want to forget:
There is usually room for one more.
And if there isn’t?
Perhaps we need a bigger table.
Stay fabulous,
Luce 💋
