Dinner With the Woman Who Knew People

Which author would you love to have dinner with?

If I could have dinner with any author, I think I’d choose Agatha Christie.

Not simply because I love the mysteries, but because I’d want to know how much of her extraordinary understanding of people came from simply watching them.

I’d want to ask her about all those little things writers notice that the rest of us miss.

The gestures.

The contradictions.

The things people say when they think nobody is listening.

And whether she was actually as good at reading people in real life as she was on paper.

I imagine we’d have a fascinating conversation.

Although, knowing my luck, I’d spend half the evening wondering whether she was quietly solving a murder at the next table.

Perhaps I’d better choose the restaurant carefully.

Stay fabulous,
Luce 💋
