You Have More Time Than You Think

What’s the best advice you’d give to someone younger than you?

If I could give one piece of advice to someone younger than me, it would be this:

You have more time than you think.

When we’re young, it can feel as though life is a race. There is pressure to choose the right path, reach the next milestone and have everything figured out as quickly as possible.

The truth is that most people are still learning as they go.

Friendships take time to grow. Confidence takes time to build. A sense of who you are often arrives much later than expected.

Some of the best things in life cannot be rushed.

A meaningful career.

A lasting relationship.

A place that feels like home.

If I could go back and tell my younger self one thing, it would simply be to stop worrying so much about being behind.

Life is not a competition, darling.

It unfolds at its own pace.

And more often than not, things work out in ways we could never have planned.
