What’s a moment in your life that felt like it was straight out of a movie?
For me, it wasn’t a grand adventure or some life-changing event.
It was a rainy morning many years before I was born.
Mum was standing at a bus stop on her way to work.
Dad and Frank were doing their postal round in an old Transit van.
Dad spotted Mum standing there in the rain, stopped the van, reversed back, jumped out and offered her his umbrella.
According to Mum, he then somehow found the courage to ask her name.
According to Frank, he found the courage by borrowing it from a song.
The fact that they’re still arguing over the details decades later only makes the story better.
Sometimes the most cinematic moments aren’t the ones with dramatic music playing in the background.
Sometimes they’re just ordinary people standing in the rain, with no idea they’re about to change each other’s lives.
Stay fabulous,
Luce 💋

Don’t miss out on this week’s episode of Return To Mellow Yellow where I take you with me to visit my somewhat dysfunctional little family and friends in Saffron Walden.
