Choosing To Slow Down

Describe a decision you made in the past that helped you learn or grow.

There was a time when I thought moving faster meant moving forward.

Saying yes to everything. Filling the days. Keeping busy enough that I didn’t have to stop and think too much about where I was actually going.

And for a while, it worked. Or at least, it felt like it did.

But at some point, I realised I couldn’t tell the difference between progress and just… motion.

So I made a decision that didn’t look like much from the outside.

I started saying no a little more often.

Leaving space in my days.

Letting things be unfinished for a while.

It felt uncomfortable at first. Like I was falling behind on something I couldn’t quite name.

But slowly, things became clearer.

I started noticing what actually mattered to me. What felt right, and what just filled time.

And I think that’s where the real change happened.

Not in doing more…

but in finally realising I didn’t have to.

Stay fabulous,
Luce 💋

Don’t miss out on this week’s episode of Return To Mellow Yellow where I take you with me to visit my somewhat dysfunctional little family and friends in Saffron Walden.
