The Kind You Don’t Notice

What’s the most fun way to exercise?

I don’t think it’s ever been about the exercise itself.

If anything, the most fun I’ve had “exercising” never really felt like it counted at the time. It was walking a bit further than planned, dancing when no one was really watching, or getting caught up in something that made me forget I was supposed to be keeping fit in the first place.

I’ve tried the structured versions… the plans, the schedules, the idea of doing it properly. And they work, in their own way. But they never quite held my attention for long.

What does, oddly enough, is anything that doesn’t feel like a task.

A long walk with no real destination. Music on, just moving around the room for the sake of it. Even those moments where you’re out with friends and realise later you’ve been on your feet for hours without noticing.

I suppose the most fun way to exercise is the way that slips past you a little.

The kind where you’re not watching the clock or counting anything… you’re just in it.

Feels like your body knows what it’s doing when you stop trying to manage it so much.

And that tends to be enough.

Stay fabulous,
Luce 💋
