What advice would you give to your teenage self?

Oh darling… where do we even begin?

First of all — stop apologising for taking up space. You’re not “too much.” You’re simply early to becoming exactly who you’re meant to be. The world will try to convince you to shrink a little, soften a little, quiet down just enough to fit neatly into other people’s expectations. Don’t. The people who matter will never ask you to become smaller.

Secondly — wear the glasses.

Yes, I know. You think they make you look serious, or shy, or somehow less dazzling. But here’s the truth: seeing clearly is far more attractive than pretending you can read a world that’s blurred. Confidence doesn’t arrive when you hide parts of yourself — it arrives the moment you stop negotiating with who you are.

Also… slow down with the need to have everything figured out. Life isn’t a perfectly plotted novel; it’s more like a Saturday afternoon — a bit chaotic, unexpectedly funny, occasionally emotional, and somehow always leading you somewhere warmer than you expected. The mistakes you’re so afraid of? They’re just breadcrumbs guiding you forward.

Oh — and one more thing.

Trust your instincts about people. You’ve always had that quiet little voice inside you. When it says someone is kind, listen. When it says walk away, do it gracefully and without explanation. Peace is far more fashionable than proving a point.

And finally, dear younger me: keep dancing. Even when the music changes, even when you feel out of step. One day you’ll realise that every awkward moment, every heartbreak, every tiny victory helped you become someone who can laugh at herself, sip her tea with style, and still believe in magic on ordinary days.
