Describe your most ideal day from beginning to end.
Oh darling… my ideal day isn’t loud or rushed or packed with “productivity.”
It starts slow.
Sunlight slipping through the curtains, the kind that makes the room glow like it’s been brushed with honey. I’d still be half wrapped in dreams, reaching for my glasses on the bedside table (pretending I don’t need them, missing them twice, finding them on the third try).
First things first — tea.
Strong. Proper. In my favourite cup.
I’d sit by the window, watching the world wake up while the steam curls around my face, scrolling through messages, smiling at the ones that make me laugh and rolling my eyes at the ones that try too hard.
No rush.
No alarms.
Just breathing.
Late morning would be for writing.
Words flowing easily, like they’ve been waiting all night to be let out.
Maybe a cheeky daily post, maybe a little story from Saffron sneaking its way in.
That’s when I feel most like myself — when the world goes quiet and it’s just me and the page.
Lunch would be something simple but lovely.
Fresh bread, cheese, maybe soup if it’s one of those cosy days.
Music playing softly in the background — the kind that makes you hum without realising.
The afternoon?
A walk.
Somewhere with trees, or streets full of character, or a park where dogs run around like they own the place. I’d people-watch (one of my greatest talents), making up stories about strangers in my head.
There’s always at least one couple I decide are secretly in love.
Evening would bring comfort.
Maybe cooking something warm and familiar, maybe ordering in if I’m feeling indulgent.
Another cup of tea.
Or perhaps a glass of wine if the mood is right.
I’d curl up with a book or a show that feels like an old friend — the kind you’ve seen a hundred times but still love.
And before bed, I’d check in with the world one last time.

Think, Today was good.
Nothing extraordinary.
Just calm.
Creative.
Warm.
Honestly, darling…
My ideal day is simply one where I get to be Luce —
writing, dreaming, laughing, and enjoying the little moments that make life feel lovely.
Stay fabulous,
Luce 💋

Don’t miss out on this week’s episode of Return To Mellow Yellow where I take you with me to visit my somewhat dysfunctional little family and friends in Saffron Walden.
