The Job I Didn’t Know I Was Interviewing For

What’s your dream job?

When I was nine, my dream job was to work in a glitter factory — surrounded by sparkles, chaos, and highly flammable powder. At twelve, I was convinced I’d become a professional backup dancer. Not the star, no — just the effortlessly cool one in the shadows with better rhythm than the lead.

In my twenties, I tried on careers like shoes. Some pinched, some flopped, some made me look better than I was. I interned, I freelanced, I networked with people who said “circle back” and meant it.

But the real dream job? Turns out, it’s the one I sort of invented. It’s this. Sitting here with a cup of tea that’s gone cold (again), writing little slices of life and sass for strangers on the internet. It’s dancing in words, not on stages. It’s glitter, just on the page instead of in my hair.

And the best part? No interview. Just a blank screen, a stubborn heart, and a voice that refuses to be quiet. Mine.

Stay fabulous,
Luce 💋
