Is your life today what you pictured a year ago?

A year ago, I had a plan. A colour-coded one, no less. I was going to grow the blog, learn to cook something beyond toast, maybe finally tackle that stack of unread books judging me from the shelf.

And yes, some of that happened. Sort of. But most of the important stuff? That came out of nowhere.

A year ago, I hadn’t pictured reuniting with the chaos that is my family, complete with overcooked Brussels sprouts, under-cooked opinions, and enough unsolicited life advice to launch a podcast.

And I definitely hadn’t pictured just how much I’d fall in love with the mess I once used to call home all over again — the people, the stories, the soft hum of belonging.

So no, my life isn’t what I pictured a year ago.

It’s better.
