Postcards in My Pocket

What cities do you want to visit?

There are cities I carry with me like folded postcards, gently worn at the edges. Some I’ve never been to, but somehow I already miss them.

Vienna
Vienna feels like a waltz I haven’t danced yet. I imagine cobbled streets echoing with the clink of porcelain coffee cups, chandeliers swaying above silent symphonies. I want to sit in a café where time forgets itself, drinking coffee topped with whipped cream so thick it almost passes for dessert, pretending I’m the type who writes poetry without crossing anything out. There’s something old-world and unapologetically elegant about Vienna — and I want to wear a coat that billows when I walk through it.

Brighton
Brighton sounds like the kind of place you end up in when your soul needs a sea breeze. I want to stand on the pier at dusk, candy floss in one hand, fish and chips in the other, seagulls screaming like they’re auditioning for something. The kind of place where everything smells like salt and second chances. Brighton feels like where old records play from upstairs windows, and no one minds the rain much because it’s just part of the charm. I’d leave my shoes by the pebbles and remember how to be young.

Edinburgh
Edinburgh is ink and stone. It’s where the buildings feel like they’ve been watching you for centuries and still haven’t made up their mind. I want to walk into a bookshop and forget what I came for, spend the afternoon in a café window writing postcards I’ll never send. It’s a city built for wandering, for ghost stories and secondhand coats. It feels like a place where something always happens — just out of sight — and if you’re quiet long enough, it might let you in on the secret.

Stay fabulous,
Luce 💋
