What could you do less of?
Oh, where do I begin?
Honestly, I could do with less apologising for taking up space.
I don’t mean the big theatrical apologies (those are rare — usually reserved for red wine on cream sofas or accidentally sending a WhatsApp meant for the group chat directly to the delivery guy).
I mean the tiny, constant ones:
“Sorry, just a quick thought—”
“Sorry, is now a bad time?”
“Sorry, I know this probably isn’t important but…”
Newsflash, Luce: you’re allowed to exist without cushioning every opinion with a velvet disclaimer.
I could also do with less doom-scrolling at 11:46 PM, convinced I’ll somehow find peace in the ninth consecutive clip of a dog being reunited with its owner.
Spoiler: I won’t. I’ll just cry and then wonder why I have eye bags the next morning.
Let’s also talk about less second-guessing.
I don’t need to rewrite every email five times.
I don’t need to mentally audit every outfit in case I “look like I’m trying too hard.” And I certainly don’t need to narrate my decisions to the ghost of every disapproving headmistress I’ve never met.
Less apologising.
Less doom-scrolling.
Less spiraling through hypotheticals like I’m auditioning for an anxiety Olympics.
More spine.
More stillness.
More standing tall in what I do choose, and letting the rest sort itself out.
Working on it.
One non-apology at a time.
Stay fabulous,
Luce 💋
