What is the favorite place to go in your city?
Darling, in a city full of dazzles, boutiques, rooftop bars, and cafés that deliberately misspell “cappuccino,” there is one place that feels unquestionably mine:
The Conservatory Room at The Willow & Finch Botanical House.
It’s my sanctuary — a glass-walled jungle tucked between two very unglamorous office buildings, the kind of place you’d miss entirely if you weren’t looking for it. Warm, humid air wraps around you the moment you step inside, the scent of jasmine drifting like a whispered compliment. Sunbeams slide through the glass panes and catch in the leaves, scattering gold everywhere. It’s like nature is showing off.
There’s a little wrought-iron bench at the back — chipped paint, cushion slightly faded — and that’s where I go when life starts shouting in capital letters. I sit, sip my coffee, watch the tiny lemon tree try its very best to bear fruit, and let my pulse slow down until it matches the rhythm of the room.
It’s not grand. It’s not trendy. No influencer has ever pretended to read Proust there.
But it’s where ideas find me.
Where I breathe.
Where I remember who I am beneath the sequins.
So yes — my favorite place in the city is a greenhouse that smells faintly of soil and dreams.
Stay fabulous,
Luce 💋
