Blue Light & Boundaries

How do you manage screen time for yourself?

Darling, managing screen time is a bit like managing champagne — delightful in moderation, disastrous without limits.

There was a time when I’d scroll long past midnight, eyes glazed, telling myself I was researching inspiration when really, I was just falling down the rabbit hole of other people’s brunches. My phone and I were in a committed, slightly toxic relationship.

These days, I’ve learned to flirt instead of cling. I check in, not move in. My screen sleeps on the other side of the room now, like a lover I adore but can’t trust too close to bedtime.

I start the morning with coffee, not notifications. And when I write, my phone goes face down — because ideas, darling, are easily spooked. They need quiet corners and candlelight to come out and dance.

It’s not about discipline so much as discernment. I choose when the world gets to have my attention — and when I keep it for myself.

So yes, I still scroll. I still swoon over Parisian cafés I haven’t visited (yet). But I also know when to say, “That’s enough, darling. Go live something worth posting about.”

Because in the end, the best screen glow can’t compete with candlelight, or with your own reflection when you’ve chosen to look up instead.

Stay fabulous,
Luce 💋
