Who are your favorite artists?
Darling, art has always been my favorite kind of oxygen — the invisible shimmer that keeps me breathing beautifully.
If we’re talking painters, then I’ll always have a soft spot for Monet, that magician of light who knew how to turn ordinary water lilies into whispers of heaven. And Frida Kahlo, of course — not just because of her colors, but her courage. Every brushstroke of hers says, I lived through this, and I made it beautiful anyway.
When it comes to music, my heart is a cocktail — one part Ella Fitzgerald, one part David Bowie, with a splash of Prince for sparkle. Ella’s voice could melt the frost off any morning. Bowie taught us that reinvention is art. And Prince? Darling, he turned rhythm into rebellion with a wink.
Then there’s fashion, which is art you wear. Alexander McQueen for the drama, Chanel for the timelessness, and Dior for when I want to remind the world that femininity and power have always been perfect dance partners.
And writers — oh, my soft spot. Oscar Wilde, for the wit; Maya Angelou, for the strength; and Virginia Woolf, for the way she wrapped emotion around words like silk.
Art, in all its forms, is really about reflection. It shows us what we’re afraid to say and gives us permission to say it beautifully.
So yes — my favorite artists are the ones who dare. Who make you stop mid-scroll, mid-step, mid-sigh and think, that’s exactly how it feels to be alive.
And you, darling? Whose work makes your heart skip like a record you never want to end?
Stay fabulous,
Luce 💋
