What skill would you like to learn?
Darling, if I could add one more jewel to my crown of talents, it would be the piano.
Not the stiff recital kind, with sheet music trembling on a stand and a nervous cough in the silence. No — I want to learn it the way the greats play, by feel, by instinct, as if the keys were extensions of their fingertips and the music was already waiting in their bones.
Imagine it: a quiet evening, the lights dim, a glass of red on the piano lid. My hands drifting across the keys, coaxing out a melody that fills the room like velvet smoke. Not flawless, not perfect, but alive. Music you feel before you think.
Because to me, the piano isn’t just an instrument. It’s a language. It speaks in sighs and storms, in whispers and crescendos. And I’d love to be fluent in that kind of magic.
Of course, part of me also dreams of learning simpler, sillier skills — like how to fold a fitted sheet without ending up in mortal combat, or how to actually keep a houseplant alive longer than a season. But the piano? That’s the one that pulls at me.
So yes, darling, one day I’ll sit down and let my fingers stumble their way into brilliance. Until then, I’ll keep humming, keep listening, and keep chasing the notes in my head.
And you? What skill do you secretly long to master — the practical, the whimsical, or the wildly romantic?
To my darling readers,
September has been a swirl of sequins, coffee cups, and quiet reflections — and you’ve been right here with me through it all. 319 views, 230 likes — numbers, yes, but really they’re moments. Little pauses where you stopped, sipped, and shared in my daily musings.
For that, thank you. Truly.
Stay fabulous,
Luce 💋
