What’s your favorite word?
Darling, choosing just one feels like being told to pick a single shade of lipstick and toss the rest — impossible, unfair, downright cruel. But if I absolutely must… my favorite word is luminous.
It’s not just how it sounds, though the syllables do glide off the tongue like satin. It’s what it does. Luminous isn’t loud or boastful. It doesn’t shout. It glows. It whispers light into dark corners and reminds you that even the smallest spark can shift an entire room.
I’ve always loved words that feel like they carry a mood with them. Some words clatter, some stomp, some flutter like chiffon in a breeze. But luminous? It feels like a mirror catching sunlight, or a candle flickering in a quiet room. It’s hope, elegance, and just a little bit of mischief all at once.
And of course, luminous isn’t just about light. It’s about presence. A luminous person isn’t the loudest or the most dazzling in sequins — they’re the one who makes everyone else feel seen, the one who lights you up. That’s the kind of magic I want to carry in my pocket.
So yes, my favorite word is luminous. It’s the shimmer I chase, the reminder I need on my dimmer days, and the promise that no matter how shadowy things get, there’s always something glowing quietly, waiting to be noticed.
And you, darling? What’s the word that clings to you like perfume — the one you can’t help but return to, again and again?
Stay fabulous,
Luce 💋
