What personality trait in people raises a red flag with you?
Darling, I’m all for quirks. Quirks are glitter. They make people sparkle in their own odd, fabulous ways. But there’s a difference between a quirk and a crack in the crystal, and my red flag unfurls the moment I see someone mistaking kindness for weakness.
It’s the little sneer when the waiter gets an order wrong.
The dismissive laugh when someone shares an idea.
The way “please” and “thank you” go missing the moment no one’s watching.
That, to me, is the flashing red stiletto on the runway.
Because here’s the truth: kindness is not currency for others to spend. It’s strength in silk gloves. It takes far more guts to stay warm, open, and generous in a sharp-edged world than it does to be cold. And when someone can’t see that? Darling, I know exactly where the exits are.
Now, I’m not saying we all need to be saints sipping chamomile. Life has bite. We all have bad days. But when cruelty shows up as a pattern — a habit instead of a hiccup — that’s when the sirens wail. That’s when I know I’m dealing with someone who feeds on dimming lights rather than lifting them.
So yes, my red flag is raised high at the first sight of belittling, sneering, or treating kindness like a bargain-bin accessory. Because I believe kindness is couture — timeless, tailored, and never out of season.
And me? I’ll take a room full of people who sparkle with warmth over one lined in cold marble any day.
What about you, darling? What trait makes you quietly reach for your metaphorical heels and strut the other way?
Stay fabulous,
Luce 💋
