Sequins, Not Grudges

Are you holding a grudge? About?

Am I holding a grudge?
Darling, grudges are heavy, and I’ve got far too many handbags to carry already.

But I’ll confess — I don’t forget easily. Not because I want to sulk in a corner, but because memory, for me, is like a sequined dress. It catches the light, even years later.

There was the friend who borrowed my favorite scarf and “accidentally” never gave it back. A scarf that went on to appear in not one, but three holiday photos on her feed. Did I grumble? Absolutely. But I also learned that some people borrow more than accessories — they borrow your sparkle and forget to return it. Lesson learned: my closet is no longer a lending library.

And then there was the colleague who once told me I was “too much” — too loud, too bright, too everything. Oh, darling, that stung for a while. But I polished that sting into armor. Every “too much” they tried to pin on me became fuel for heels clicking louder, lipstick shining bolder, sequins dazzling brighter. If I’m “too much,” it’s because they were playing too small.

So no, I don’t hold grudges. I hold glitter. I hold memories. I hold the little sparks that remind me not to dim for anyone.

Because grudges weigh you down, but sequins? Sequins catch the light and let you twirl forward. And I’d much rather twirl.

So tell me, darling — are you clutching a grudge, or are you ready to trade it in for something that sparkles?

Stay fabulous,
Luce 💋
