What’s the most memorable vacation I’ve ever taken?

Darling, it was the kind you don’t plan — you escape to it.
One January, I packed my sass and my silk scarves and got on a plane with nothing but a one-way ticket and a suitcase full of “maybe.”

The city was grey. My heart? Even greyer.
So I fled the cold — and found myself in a tiny beachside town where the mangoes were ripe, the Wi-Fi was questionable, and no one knew my name.

I stayed in a room with creaky ceiling fans and cotton sheets that smelled like saltwater and lime. I wore kaftans by day and lipstick by night, and every evening I danced barefoot to a band that never learned to play in key but sang with soul.

The ocean didn’t ask me questions.
The heat didn’t apologize.
And that little place — with its rusty bikes and sunburnt strangers — gave me more than a tan. It gave me space. To feel. To forgive. To start again.

No itinerary. No expectations. Just a girl, some sunscreen, and a second chance.

That’s what makes it memorable.
