If you had to change your name, what would your new name be?
Darling,
If I had to change my name, I wouldn’t pick something safer or simpler. I wouldn’t try to blend in. No — I’d lean all the way into sparkle.
I’d choose a name that glides off the tongue like silk and leaves a little shimmer in its wake. Something that sounds like the clink of vintage champagne glasses and feels like velvet gloves under moonlight.
Maybe Vivienne Fox — because Vivienne knows how to walk into a room and own it, and Fox, well, that’s for the mischief. Or perhaps Celeste Darling, because she sounds like she dances barefoot under stars and never answers emails before noon.
But between us, darling? I’d still be me.
Because names are costumes we get to try on, but the heart underneath is what really matters. Whether I’m called Lucy or Luce or Lady Glittershine of the Swing-Out Society — what you hear in my voice, that’s where the truth is.
And maybe that’s the point. If I ever changed my name, it wouldn’t be to hide. It would be to tell the world who I’ve decided to become next.
What would yours be?
Stay fabulous,
Luce 💋
