What do you do to be involved in the community?
Darling, community isn’t something I join — it’s something I live.
I’m not the type to just pop into a bake sale once a year and call it involvement (though I will show up with glittery cupcakes if invited). No, for me, being part of a community is like dancing a Lindy Hop — it’s all about connection, rhythm, and knowing when to lead and when to follow.
Let’s start with the obvious: I write. Every weekday, I show up in your feed like clockwork — a little sass, a little sparkle, a whole lotta heart. I answer these prompts not just because it’s fun (it is), but because I believe words can stitch us closer together. I write like I’m talking to a friend — and slowly, those friends become family.
Then there’s the blogosphere. I don’t just post and vanish like a puff of glitter. No, ma’am. I read, I comment, I connect. I make time for other writers because I know how much it means when someone sees your words and says, “Hey, that hit home.”
And of course… there’s the dance floor. I show up to the socials, not just for the twirls and the jazz (though, let’s be honest, the Charleston is my cardio), but because it’s where the magic happens. I ask the new folks to dance. I remember what it felt like to be the shy one in the corner. I’ve been there — so now I reach out, smile, and say, “Wanna try a swing-out?”
Whether it’s a comment on someone’s blog, a hand offered on the dance floor, or a blog post that makes someone laugh over their morning coffee — that’s community, baby. It’s being present. It’s showing up. It’s giving a damn.
So what do I do to be involved in the community?
I show up as myself. Fully. Freely. Fabulously.
Because when you bring your real self to the table? People make room.
Stay fabulous,
Luce 💋
